Prophecy - What is it?
Remember the former things of old, for I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like Me, declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times things that are not yet done, saying, ‘My counsel shall stand, and I will do all My pleasure…. Isaiah 46:9
Behold, the former things have come to pass, and new things I declare; Before they spring forth I tell you of them….. Isaiah 42:9
Even from the beginning I have declared it to you; before it came to pass I proclaimed it to you….Isaiah 48:5
Worship God! For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy…..Revelaton 19:10(b)
What is prophecy?
Prophecy is not just a curiosity. It is a demonstration that God is real, that He cares, and that He has chosen to reveal to us in advance what He is all about, what His plan is for the world, and what His plan is for you and me personally - and it's all in the Bible in one integrated package.
Jude admonishes us to contend earnestly for the faith. Paul tells us that this faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.
To know God's Word is to know God. If we don't know God, there will come a day when, as written in Matthew 7:23, Jesus will say - "I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!
We are in a time that the Bible indicates are the 'Last Days'. End times prophecies abound in the Bible, and the one pre-cursor to these prophesies coming to pass is the re-establishing of Israel as a sovereign nation, and the re-gathering of the Jews to the land that rightfully belongs to them, the land that God gave them.
This began on May 14, 1948. Since that time, there is nothing at all keeping Jesus from returning for His church, the Body of Christ, in the Rapture. After that point, all other end-times prophesies will be fulfilled, including the 70th Week of Daniel - also known as the Tribulation Period - culminating in the physical and visible return of Jesus Christ in judgment, and to establish His rule and reign on this earth for one-thousand years.
Ultimately, every knee will bow, and every tongue will confess, that Jesus Christ is Lord.
God declared it, and God guarantees it will happen.
