What the Bible Says About Homosexuality

"For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, because although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor where thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened....For this reason God gave them up to vile passions.  For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature.  Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in thier lust for one another, men with men, committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due."  (Romans 2:20-21; Romans 1:26-27 NKJV)

The Bible, Old Testament and New Testament, has much to say about homosexual acts.  The Bible is clear that God has declared such acts to be an abomination (a detestable act) to Him, and to be sin.

God calls the homosexual acts committed by the men of Sodom a sin which is "very grievous" in Genesis 18:20 KJV.  He also calls those perverse sexual acts "filthy", "wicked", "ungodly" and "unlawful" in 2 Peter 2:6-8 KJV.

Throughout the Bible, the homosexual wickedness of Sodom is referred to and used as a sort of benchmark for evil.  The Bible condemns homosexual acts in the strongest terms, and even by describing the acts themselves, such as in Leviticus 18:22 KJV "Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind; it is abomination."

Leviticus 18:22 and Leviticus 20:13 both forbid sexual acts between two men.  Romans 1:26 forbids sexual acts between two women, labeling 'lesbianism' unnatural.

In Judges 19:22, homosexuals are referred to as "sons of Belial", and in Judges 20;13 they are called "children of Belial".  The word "Belial" denotes individuals who are ungodly and wicked.  This is how God views those who engage in homosexual acts.

Form cover to cover, the Word of God condemns homosexual acts, both between men and men, and between women and women.  These acts are a complete repudiation of God's created order, and represent a graphic rebellion against the Creator and Lawgiver of the universe.  Homosexual acts go even beyond the sin which "is common to man" (1 Corinthians 10:13) and launch off into sin which is "unnatural" (Romans 1:26-27).

Consequently, homosexual acts are incredibly destructive to the individual who commits them (Romans 1:27-28; Galatians 6:7) and to the nation which allows and condones them.  God's Word makes it clear that He will judge and destroy a person or a nation which condones or allows homosexual acts (Romans 1:32).

It may be popular in today's culture to defend and promote sexual perversion in the name of "tolerance" or "diversity", but, the truth is, God hates such acts and will judge them severely.

Homosexuals must be told that they, as with all sinners, are lost and headed for hell unless they repent, believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and are regenerated and born again.  Only then can they become a new creation, free from their abominable sin.

We pray that all those who are practicing this sin against a Holy and Righteous God will repent.

Evangelist Brian Johnson and his family handed out free Bibles at Twin Cities (Gay) Pride Fest on June 26, 2010. He did not seek confrontation, but he answered questions from those who approached him.

Customarily, Brian leases a booth at the fest, and this year the Park Board approved his permit, but said he would be arrested if he disrupt the public. (Last year Brian was denied space, and was arrested when he decided to come anyway).

The Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board said that anyone should be able to walk through a public park and express themselves freely. U.S. District Judge John Tunheim agreed (so do I), and ruled in Brian's favor.

My brother Clayton attended the fest this year, along with 3 other girls, and saw Brian (the Bible guy) passing out the Bibles.

I plan to join with Brian one year, God willing, and assist him in preaching and passing out Bibles. I don't know for how much longer the courts continue to approve anti-gay demonstration and Bible distribution...
