Heaven? ........ or Hell?

In God’s Word, the Bible, sin is declared to be any violation, no matter how small, of God’s law.

“Whoever commits sin also commits lawlessness, and sin is lawlessness.” (1 John 3:4).

The Bible makes it clear that even thoughts can be sinful. While there are many reasons for sin, God accepts no excuses for any sin.

Because every person has “sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23); every person stands condemned as a lawbreaker before God and will have to answer for his violations of God’s law on Judgment Day.

“And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment” (Hebrews 9:27).

How will you answer to God for your sins on that awful day? Do not expect the perfect, holy Judge to simply let you walk away from justice, because He will not.

“God is not a man, that He should lie, Nor a son of man, that He should repent.  Has He said, and will He not do? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?” (Numbers 23:19).

God’s Word tells us the sentence which will be handed down to unforgiven sinners on Judgment Day:

“And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire.” (Revelation 20:15).

Jesus asked one group of sinners, “How can you escape the condemnation of hell?” (Matthew 23:33).

Isn’t it time you asked yourself that question? You cannot bribe God, the holy Judge. You cannot work your sins off.

“For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.” (Ephesians 2:8-9).

The Bible tells us,

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16)

Jesus Christ, God the Son, came to this earth and “was made in the likeness of men” (Philippians 2:7) while remaining the Son of God. He lived a perfect life on earth and offered up His perfect life as a sin offering once for all on the cross.

“But this Man, after He had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down at the right hand of God” (Hebrews 10:12).

Jesus was raised from the dead by the power of God, and in this, defeated not only sin but also death. Most importantly, by shedding His perfect blood, Jesus Christ paid for the sins and canceled the sentence of all those who will ask to be forgiven of their sin and put all their faith in Him for salvation.

If you have not repented of your sins and put all your trust in Jesus Christ for salvation and right standing with God, you are headed for eternal damnation when you die.

Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” (John 14:6).

Jesus commanded, “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the gospel.”  (Mark 1:15).

If you want to be saved and spared eternal damnation, you must truly repent of your sins, be regenerated (become a new creation), believe the gospel, and put all your trust for salvation in the Lord Jesus Christ (Romans 10:9-10).

“For he says,In an acceptable time I have heard you, behold, now is the acceptable time, behold, now is the day of salvation.”  (2 Corinthians 6:2).

The gospel is the good news that those who are willing to turn from sin to God, ask forgiveness for violating His law, and “call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved” (Romans 10:13).

They will be saved once and saved for all time (Romans 6:23). On judgment day, they will stand before God forgiven and made perfect because He has imputed to them the perfect righteousness of Jesus Christ His Son.

Do you have a relationship with God? Does your relationship make you sure that you will go to heaven when you die? If not......

What do you need to do?

All you need do is acknowledge that you have sinned against an Holy, Almighty God, the Creator of the universe. Confess those sins, repent (turn from your sin), and believe on Jesus Christ as your Lord and your Savior. Ask Him into you heart and into your life. Then, read your Bible (we will be happy to provide you with one if you need), and be involved in the Body of Christ - a local church or fellowship.
